Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is planning to launch its upcoming smartphone, the Vivo V9 in the Indian market in 23rd March 2018.

The V9 has the infamous notch design with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 6.3-inch 2280×1080 IPS LCD. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. In terms of imaging, the V9 has a dual camera system on the back with 16MP primary and 5MP secondary depth sensor.

Vivo has launched the V9 smartphone in India a day after international announcement. The phone is priced at INR 22,990 and will be available through Amazon, Flipcard  Vivo E-Store India.

Vivo V9 pre-orders, release date, launch offers

Vivo V9 pre-orders are now open on Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, and Vivo E-Store; the Chinese brand says those who pre-order the handset before April 2 will get one-time screen replacement warranty, additional discount of Rs. 2,000, and no-cost EMIs. Paytm is giving cashback of Rs. 2,299 on using the code ‘VIVOV9′, while Amazon is giving cashback of 5 percent in the form of Pay balance. The Vivo e-store and Amazon have also mentioned couple movie tickets from BookMyShow as well with the Vivo V9 pre-orders. It will go on sale from April 2, and will also be available offline across the country from the same date.

Vivo has focused on its dual camera setup in its promotional material prior to the launch event. In the camera department, the device will come with a 16 MP camera sensor with an f/2 aperture and a 5 MP camera sensor for sensing the depth on the back of the device. Though, the highlighting feature of the device is likely to be its 24 MP camera sensor on the front of the smartphone with an f/2 aperture for improved selfies. It is likely to pack a new ‘AI Face Beauty’ feature to ‘truly represent’ the beauty of its user.

Vivo V9 specifications

The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Vivo V9 runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) IPS ‘FullView Display 2.0’ with an 19:9 aspect ratio. It features bezels of 1.85mm on top, said to be 76 percent less than the previous generation FullView display; 1.75mm displays on the side, said to be 19 percent less, and 5.9mm bezels at the bottom, said to be 29 percent less. It delivers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.

In terms of connectivity options, V9 will come with a microUSB port, OTG, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2 and headphone jack. The device will also come with the company’s in-house Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0 out of the box. The device will come in gold and black colours. It runs on a 3260mAh battery, with no fast charging support.
