In 2017, the Samsung galaxies seemingly have come up with different market specific flavors. Now, we have the samsung galaxy j7 pro for review. It good to watch with new metallic design and bundle of new features how good it is in comparison to Xiaomi and Honor devices which are performing very good in the mid range section.
Let’s go through with very quick Samsung J7 Pro Review to understand why you can purchase this device or why not!
First go through with Specifications before we start our Samsung J7 pro Review
- 13MP primary camera and 13MP front facing camera
- 13.97 centimeters (5.5-inch) capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution

Metallic Design body gives a fresh new look in comparison to other Samsung devices which flaunts plastic body. Device seems to be very sturdy, round curved edges gives a nice grip in hands. Antenna bands on the back gives a nice look to the device. Device is very much attractive with thin bezels on the sides. Fingerprint scanner is placed below the Display which is also being used a Home button like in all Samsung device. Placement of fingerprint at the back could have been a better option to get full view display. This device carries thick bezel at the top and bottom which makes the screen looks smaller, it is one of the downside that we felt.
Display is the main highlight of the device. It features a 5.5inch FHD sAMOLED display. Because of this it has a better viewing angles and good amount of saturation; also helps in lower consumption of battery power compared to an IPS LCD. It offers resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels with pixel density of 401PPI. We loved the display quality in comparison to other devices in the same price segment. Sunlight legibility is good on this device so issues felt using this device under direct sunlight. Display is best suited for watching HD movies and playing graphic intensive games.
Samsung J7 Pro offers 13MP primary camera and 13MP front facing camera. The rear camera comes with Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor and f/1.7 aperture which helps to take high quality images with much detailing in normal lighting conditions, While it can take good images in low light conditions but we felt corners to be very soft when zoomed in. Camera struggles a lot in low light conditions, the phone takes too long to focus which is very annoying. We did missed secondary depth sensor camera which helps to take images with Bokeh effect which is very much in fashion now a days.
Front camera too comes with 13MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture, It can take nice selfies with good amount of detailing. Images were sharp with all natural colors preserved which is very impressive. Front flash helps a lot to take good selfies in dim light or in no light conditions. J7 Pro features Social camera it is one of the 1st smart phones to come with the industry 1st social camera. With it not only can we click and sent photos to our favorite contacts in a jiffy, but also share on the social media platforms like Facebook and messenger. It sad that the camera can neither record videos in 4k resolution nor in slow motion. Its a waste of power for the kind of processor that it has because the EXynos 7870 processor can process 4k resolution or slow motion which is very disappointing to see at this price range
Battery is the important aspects of any phone and it defines the long term future of the smart phone in the market. The 3600 MAh battery of the galaxy j7 pro will easily see us through a whole day during regular usage. Plus it also has the nifty option to unused apps to sleep if it hasn’t been used for three days but the sad part is that it doesn’t offer any fast charging option besides this it is still using Old Micro USB port.
Samsung J7 Pro is powered by 1.6GHz Exynos 77870 octa core processor with 3GB of RAM. The chipest is developed by Samsung and compared to snapdragon and many have found that it better in power and memory management. Performance is top-notch which doesn’t have any heating issues of problems.
Multitasking is very smooth on this device, gaming performance is quite brilliant we played Mortal Kombat X and Modern Combat 4 on this device and the game ran without any lags or frame drops. It comes with 64GB of internal storage which gives enough space for installing multiple apps and storing media files.
Samsung galaxy j7 pro has a dedicated slots for the SIM and memory card. This features found even on the scaled-down galaxy j7 max, let’s use both the SIM card and the micro SD cards to their maximum capacity. Device runs on Android Nougat v7.0 with Samsung’s Own UI which is bundled with multiple features and gestures to play around. Samsung galaxy j7 pro features Samsung Pay mini which is safe and secure way to make transactions without physical cards. All we have to do is load our card details, secure it with our finger print and the details will be carefully hidden with an encrypted vault which is very impressive.
Although, the software runs on Android Nougat it has a many third party apps from Samsung that runs on the background. Some can be uninstalled but not all as it will required to root the devices to uninstalled all of them. However doing that will terminate the warranty terms from the manufacturer and that’s a problem for the users. Finger print scanner performs decent it’s not the quickest if we compare it with other devices in the same price segment. Speaker aren’t that loud to be used in crowded places they are good to be used in a room.
The initial impression of the Samsung galaxy j7 pro has been a really positive one. It drags Samsung A-series experience to a competitive price point.
The phone offers a charming display and has an appealing design that works in its favor. Optics, both on the front rear, are also compelling for the price. A good enough day to day usage performance and Samsung pay support further make it an alluring option for the young buyers. Its safe to say, this is the best j series handset we have experienced so far.
