Samsung has finally gone ahead and u n veiled its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in India. Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus made its debut globally in the US last month. The devices go on sale for a price tag of Rs Rs 57,900 for the Galaxy S8, and Rs 64,900 for the Galaxy S8 Plus. The phones will be available exclusively on Flipkart and Samsung retail shops from the 5th of May. Pre-bookings start from Wednesday and those who pre-order the devices will get the wireless charger with fast charging capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel, whereas the S8 Plus sports a larger 6.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel. These are bezel-less displays sporting a resolution of 2961×1440 pixels, along with the 18:9 aspect ratio.

Coming to the hardware, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus comes loaded with Exynos 8895 octa-core processor which is built on the 10nm process. Both the variants come paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The device also supports storage expansion using a microSD card.

These smartphones are no slouch in camera performance either. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus feature a 12-megapixel shooter at the back with f/1.7 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation and LED flash, as well as an 8-megapixel AF selfie shooter at the front with an f/1.7 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is running on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. The smartphone also comes loaded with Samsung’s own AI assistant called Bixby . Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus get a dedicated button for launching Bixby.

Bixby-enabled applications will be able to support all the tasks through voice commands, that the app could do in through a touch interface, enabling a true voice-based smartphone. The AI assistant currently works with a set of pre-loaded apps, with third-party apps joining in soon.
